Our 18th Anniversary Weekend

August 2-3, 2008

Amy and I decided to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary with something special.  We decided to get each other our 1st tattoos.  Although we went to Two Kings Tattooing in Hendersonville with different designs in mind, we ended up combing our ideas and got "almost" matching tattoo's.  Thanks to Eli for his great work and for being patient with us 1st timers.

After getting inked, we traveled to Tennessee to check our some marina's for LHS&PS's upcoming Fall Cruise.  On Sunday, Aug. 3rd (our actual anniversary) we spent the day coming across the mountains from the Tellico River area through Fontana, Highlands, and Cashiers.  This was an all day journey through some excellent mountain roads.  What I discovered was the famous "Tail of the Dragon" which is actually Hwy. 129 in Tennessee and is known for its fun to drive mountain curves, 318 to be exact in just over 11 miles.  After concurring the "Dragon" (also known as Deals Gap) and the following "Hellbender" (Hwy. 28 coming down the mountain to Fontana) we stopped for a rest along side a placid mountain lake.  Except for the first, all these pictures were taken at that rest stop.

My 1st Tattoo (but probably not my last)

We Liked this Better than the Lexus, Volvo & the Acura we were looking at!  It was a good choice.

That had to hurt!

Didn't Hurt a bit (yeah right!)

Thanks to Eli for his excellent work!
